CHILLICOTHE — Circleville and Logan Elm grabbed the last two spots in next week’s district tournament while Westfall was one spot away from moving on in Tuesday’s Southeast District Division II sectional at the Chillicothe Jaycees Golf Course.
Sheridan took home the sectional title with a 329 while Warren (343) took second on a fifth score playoff (97 to 99) over Alexander.
Circleville was fourth with a score 344 and Logan Elm earned the final spot in the district tournament with a 346. Westfall was sixth with a 354.
Alexander’s Stanley Viny was the match medalist with a 77 while Circleville’s Michael Fernandez, Sheridan’s Bryce Kelley and Owen Cains and Unioto’s Charlie Lewis all were tied for second with a score of 80.
Logan Elm’s Will Higginbotham and Grant Cline each shot an 81.
Rounding out the scoring for the Tigers were Reid Seimetz with an 84, Brady Reuter with an 89 and Liam McConnell and Jude Blair with a 91.
Graham Williams had an 88 for the Braves, Parker Calder shot 96 and Mason Gentry shot 104.
Westfall was led by Brendan Biegler with an 86, Colton Brungarth had an 88, Dalton Bush had an 89, Jacob Hicks shot 91 and Ian Camden had a 96.
Along with the top five teams advancing to next week’s district tournament at Crown Hill Golf Club, five individuals not on a qualifying team also advanced. Those individuals included Unioto’s Charlie Lewis (80), Washington Court House’s Garret Wahl and Isaiah Wynne (82), Fairfield Union’s Isaiah Delong (83) and Zane Trace’s Jon Grondolsky (84)
