Local teams fare well in postseason warmup

CHILLICOTHE — As they prepare for sectional tournament action, 21 schools came to the Chillicothe Jaycees Golf Course for the Zane Trace Invitational Saturday. 

Sheridan came out on top with a score of 321 while Marietta’s ‘A’ team was second with 344 and Circleville was third with 348. Westfall placed fifth with 358, Logan Elm was seventh with 361 and Amanda-Clearcreek was 15th with a score of 408.

Alexander’s Stanley Viny was the match medalist with a 75 and Sheridan’s Bryce Kelley was runner-up with a round of 78.

Michael Fernandez led Circleville with a round of 82, Reid Seimetz shot 83, Brady Reuter shot 87, Liam McConnell shot 96 and Jude Blair shot a 101. 

Westfall was led by Brendan Biegler with an 82, Jacob Hicks had an 83, Colton Brunharth shot 96, Dalton Bush 97 and Ian Camden had a 103. 

Grant Cline had an 18-hole score of 87 to lead Logan Elm. Will Higginbotham shot 90, Parker Calder 91, Graham Williams 93 and Mason Gentry 95. 

The Aces got an 89 from Caiden Riddle, 97 from Peter Brockman, Ashden Vanscoy shot 107 and Breece Stone shot 115.

Of the schools competing in the invitational, Circleville, Logan Elm, Westfall, Zane Trace, Fairfield Union, Alexander, New Lexington, Vinton County and Sheridan will all return to the Jaycees for their sectional on Tuesday.
