Braves takes down Aces, McConnell hits milestone in CHS win, Mustangs sweep Pioneers, Vikings fall to Falcons

AMANDA — Logan Elm picked up its 14th win of the season with a 3-1 matchup at Amanda-Clearcreek. The Braves came out on top 25-13, 25-21, 22-25, 25-18.

Claire King had 24 kills for the Braves and Adelyn Smith had 16. 

Hannah Rhoads put up 47 assists in the match. 

Defensively, Lynsay VanHoose had 29 digs, Rhoads had 15, Kiannah Ingram had 14 and Sadie Binkley had 10. 

McConnell records 1,000th dig in Circleville win

CIRCLEVILLE — Circleville swept visiting Hamilton Township Thursday 25-21, 25-16, 25-18 on senior night. 

Along with improving to 17-4 (11-2 MSL), it was a big night for senior Gabby McConnell who had the 1,000thdig of her high school career. As a junior, she surpassed 1,000 assists.

With Bloom-Carroll getting its 12th league win of the season with a 3-0 victory over Liberty Union, the Bulldogs clinched at least a share of the MSL title with matches remaining against Logan Elm and Amanda-Clearcreek. Circleville can do no worse than second in the league and has only one league match remaining at Teays Valley Tuesday. 

Mustangs sweep Pioneers

WILLIAMSPORT — Westfall swept Zane Trace for another SVC win Thursday night 25-23, 25-15, 25-23.

Jaylyn Wippel handed out 34 assists for the Mustangs while Aubrey Clark had 11 kills and Tara Wolfe chipped in 10. 

Defensively, Leah Johnston had 14 digs, Delana Landefeld had 12, and Wippel and Lauryn Blackburn each had 10. 

Landefeld served up four aces and Karli Thornton had three. 

Vikings fall to Falcons

LANCASTER — Teays Valley fell to Fairfield Union 4-1 Thursday 25-20, 25-20, 21-25, 25-10. 

Christian Thompson led FU with 28 kills, Cara Miller recorded 42 digs and Alyssa Typton had 40 assists.
