Maysville takes title at Westfall’s Butcher Green Memorial

WILLIAMSPORT — Maysville had three champions and three runners-up to take the team title at Westfall’s Butcher Green Memorial Wrestling Tournament Saturday.

The Panthers also had three wrestlers take second in amassing 233 points. Celina took second with 223.5 points and the host Mustangs were third with 198. Amanda-Clearcreek placed seventh with 124.5 points.

The Mustangs had three wrestlers claim titles and another take second.

Gage Bolt won at 165 by pinning Celina’s Carver Harris in 1:16.

Wes Moats took the title at 215 with a pin of Jackson’s Hunter Sites in 2:59.

Heavyweight John Siders won a 3-2 ultimate tie breaker decision over JT Jenkins of Zane Trace.

Bryce Wickline was second at 175 pounds losing by pin with six seconds left in the match against Celina’s Luke Lazarich.

Amanda-Clearcreek had two champions with Bodie Martin and Peyton Beavers.

Martin pinned Maysville’s Logan Wilhite in 1:25 to win the 150-pound title.

Beavers defeated Celina’s Zach Greber 4-0 to win at 157 pounds.

Braves seventh at Cambridge Invitational

CAMBRIDGE — Beaver Local was 19 points better than Minerva to take the team title at the Cambridge Invitational Saturday 182.5-163.5.

Logan Elm was seventh out of 17 teams with 125.

The Braves placed five wrestlers led by Gavin Hoover taking first at 126 pounds and Ayden Hudson finishing second at 113.

Vikings second at Granville

GRANVILLE — Teays Valley placed second at the Steve Stahl Memorial at Granville High School Saturday.

The Vikings had 209.5 points with Olentangy Berlin wining the event with 225. Lancaster was third with 208.5.
