Vikings, Mustangs in action at Barnesville Invitational

BARNESVILLE — Teays Valley was seventh and Westfall 15th as Barnesville defended its home mats in winning the Doan Ford Invitational Saturday.

Barnesville had 203.5 team points and Nordonia was second at 151. Teays Valley had 112 points and Westfall 70.

John Todhunter and Carson Hix were top finishers for the Vikings as they placed second at 106 and 113 pounds, respectively. Josh Zimmer finished fourth at 120 pounds. Ethan Schwalbauch was fifth at 190.

Gage Bolt was the top finisher for Westfall as he finished third at 165 pounds. Bryce Wickline took sixth at 175 and Wes Moats was sixth at 215.

Braves compete at Roughneck Duals

FINDLAY — Logan Elm spent the weekend at the University of Findlay participating in the Rouchneck Duals. The Braves were 3-7 in the action held Friday and Saturday. 

In Friday’s duals, the Braves were 48-33 winners over Evergreen, lost 42-27 to Ashland, lost 50-18 to Marion Pleasant, lost 57-9 to Miami Trace and fell 45-36 to Monroeville. 

LE was 2-3 on Saturday as it lost its opener 69-3 to Detroit Central Catholic, beat Milan Edison 39-35, lost 53-18 to Wauseon, lost 48-22 to Richmond and then wrapped up the weekend with a 54-18 win over Ayersville.
