Tigers mount big comeback against Panthers; Lady Aces fall to Shermans

WASHINGTON COURT HOUSE — It was quite the turn-around in the second half as Circleville overcame a 17-point deficit to grab a 46-39 road win at Miami Trace Wednesday night.

Trailing 34-17 at the break, the Tigers roared back with a 17-3 third quarter.

“We struggled to get anything going in the first half. We weren’t strong with the ball offensively and didn’t communicate well defensively which gave them too many clean looks,” Circleville coach Cody Carpenter said. “At the half, we basically just told them that (Miami Trace) wasn’t doing anything we hadn’t prepared for.

“We’ve been down all season and battled back, and that’s exactly what we did. We started being the physical team, jumping the passing lanes, getting deflections, pushing in transition and then finishing free throws down the stretch.”
