AMANDA — Teays Valley came back after being down by 10 late in the third period to grab a 47-43 win over host Amanda-Clearcreek.
The Aces had a 27-23 lead at halftime and the got a pair of three-pointers from Hailey Sowers to go up 33-23.
The Vikings got their second-half scoring going with layups from Abby Tier and Kennedy Younkin and a three-pointer from Gabrielle Watkins.
After an AC timeout, Younkin converted a three-point play to tie the game back up at 33-33.
The Aces closed the third with baskets from Kaylie Wilson and Rachel Weaver to lead 37-33 going into the fourth.
While TV only converted one shot from the field in the fourth, the Vikings were able to complete their comeback by hitting 10 of 15 free throw attempts in the fourth while holding the Aces to six points.
Watkins led the Vikings with 12 points and Younkin had 10.
“All the credit is to Gabrielle Watkins — she had 12 for us tonight and she had a huge first half for us and that is her experience showing,” TV coach Trevor Younkin said. “I also want to give credit to (AC coach) Tim (Leist), he had a well thought out game plan and we had to learn how to adapt.
“Tim does a wonderful job here. He had a great game plan, and he always has his teams ready to play and that took some things we wanted to do away.”
Sowers led the Aces with 14 points and Taylor Evans added nine.
Amanda-Clearcreek (15-6, 9-5) wraps up the regular season Saturday hosting Fisher Catholic.
Teays Valley (13-6, 9-2) travels to Bloom-Carroll Thursday.
