BB — Circleville 11, Liberty Union 1 (5 innings)
BALTIMORE — Circleville had 14 hits and played error-free baseball in getting an 11-1 win at Liberty Union Saturday.
Six Tigers had multiple hits, led by Hudson Phalin who went 3-4 and he drove in two.
Circleville scored three times in the first, added a run in the third and then put seven across in the fifth.
Kaiden Bigley pitched all five innings for Circleville. He allowed one earned run on six hits with a strikeout.
BB — Logan Elm 8, Piketon 7
CIRCLEVILLE — It came down to the bottom of the seventh for Logan Elm and the Braves produced with their backs to the wall for an 8-7 win over Piketon Saturday.
The Braves had built a 5-2 lead through five innings.
An error to open the sixth set up Piketon to score four runs and go up 6-5.
The Red Streaks added another run in the seventh to go up by two.
In the bottom of the seventh, LE opened with a walk. A fielder’s choice, another walk and then a single from Keegan Diehl loaded the bases. Grant Cline singled to bring in Brady Neff.
Carson Summers then came to the plate and singled on a hard ground ball to left field to bring in Zane Seimer with the tying run and Diehl with the winning run.
Dylan Neff started for LE and pitched 5.1 innings giving up six hits, one walk and he struck out five.
Kyle Rine got the win in relief, pitching the last 1.2 innings where he allowed two runs on four hits with a walk and a strikeout.
BB — Hamilton Township 3, Amanda-Clearcreek 2
OBETZ — Amanda-Clearcreek got out to a quick lead but was unable to make it hold up as the Aces fell 3-2 at Hamilton Township Saturday.
An RBI single from Bodie Martin, followed by an RBI double off the bat of Breece Stone gave AC a 2-0 lead in the top of the first.
The Rangers came back and got a run in the bottom of the inning and then added an unearned run in the second to tie game.
A fourth-inning, two-out RBI single pushed HT’s third run across the plate and that was all the Rangers would need.
The Aces collected four hits in the game – all in the first inning – and had only four baserunners after the first inning on a walk and a couple of hit batters.
Leland Riley worked the mound for the Aces going six innings, allowing five hits, walking one and striking out eight.
Josh Woods worked the mound for Rangers. He walked one and struck out seven.
BB — Rossview 9, Teays Valley 5
CLARKSVILLE, Tenn — Teays Valley wrapped up its spring break trip to Tennessee with a 9-5 loss to Rossview High School.
After Rossview, from Clarksville, jumped out to a 4-0 lead in the bottom of the first, the Vikings got back into it with two runs in the second, a run in the third and took a 5-4 lead with two in the fourth.
The Hawks didn’t allow the Vikings another baserunner after the fourth inning and, offensively, tied the game in the bottom of the fourth and then got the lead back with a run in the fifth and added three in the sixth.
The Vikings were held to three hits on Saturday from Brody Weiler, Tyler Blankenship and Luke Smith.
Brody Mann started for TV and gave up five earned runs on five hits and five walks and he struck out five.
Luke Reese pitched 1.1 innings in relief and gave up three runs (two earned) on two hits with a walk and a strikeout.
Nico Trapasso pitched one inning. He gave up one run on three hits with a walk and a strikeout.
SB — Amanda-Clearcreek 18, Hamilton Township 5 (5 innings)
OBETZ — Amanda-Clearcreek sent 16 batters to the plate in the second inning on the way to an 18-5 win at Hamilton Township Saturday.
AC had a quick start with four runs in the first, including a two-run homer from Averie Hutchison.
Coming back to the plate in the second inning, the Aces pounded out 11 hits and added 12 runs to their total.
HT put a run across in the bottom of the second only to see the Aces score twice more in the third.
The Aces had 21 hits Saturday with Hailey Sowers, Alex Martin and Kaylee Roberts each responsible for three.
Casadee Steinmetz pitched the first four innings for the Aces giving up one run on two hits with a walk and a strikeout. Makenna Singleton pitched the fifth inning, allowing four runs (three earned) on six hits with a walk.
