CIRCLEVILLE — It took two days to do it, but Miami Trace defeated host Logan Elm 41-20 this weekend.
The Braves and Panthers had played a little over three minutes Friday night before a weather delay kicked in and eventually led to the game being completed Saturday morning.
Starting Saturday with a first-and-goal from LE’s three-yard line, it didn’t take long for the Panthers to take the early lead.
The Braves answered with a Ne’miah Waugh TD catch and a Bryce Perkins TD run and led 13-7 for a while before the half ended with MT leading 20-13.
A touchdown pass from Aaron Walters to Gavin Hoover tied the game in the third quarter but the next two touchdowns belonged to the Panthers as they went up 34-20 early in the fourth.
It looked like the Braves were going to get themselves back in it when Cameron Drake returned a kickoff 86 yards to the six-yard line. But the Panthers held and stopped the Braves on fourth down.
MT added one more touchdown in the final minutes to close out the game.
Aaron Walters threw for 346 yards, hitting on 18 of 35 attempts.
