With the regular season complete, approximately 65 percent of the state’s football playing high schools are now preparing for the first round of playoff action.
Three of those teams are from the area and several more from their leagues have extended their season as well.
Amanda-Clearcreek, Logan Elm and Teays Valley all are playing next Friday.
Teays Valley (6-4) earned the 7th seed in Division II’s region 7 and will host No. 10 Briggs (6-4).
Logan Elm (7-3) finished with the No. 6 seed and will host No. 11 Philo (5-5) in region 15 of Division IV.
Amanda-Clearcreek (6-4) will be on the road Friday as the Aces earned the No. 9 seed in Division V, region 19 and will be heading south to take on No. 8 Portsmouth (7-3).
All games start at 7 p.m.
Tickets go on sale Monday with staggered start times. Division I and II go on sale at 10 a.m., Division III and IV go on sale at 11 a.m., and Division V, VI and VII go on sale at noon.
Along with Amanda-Clearcreek and Logan Elm, the Mid-State League’s Bloom-Carroll and Fairfield Union are playing in Week 11.
All eight teams from the OCC Buckeye Division made the playoffs, including 1-9 Logan.
In the SVC, Paint Valley, Piketon, Unioto and Zane Trace all earned playoff spots.
