GRANVILLE — New Hope got out in front quick and never let Granville Christian back in the game Thursday night on the way to a 74-28 win.
Xander Rink had eight points in the first quarter as New Hope jumped out to a 19-6 lead.
Hunter Cavanaugh scored 13 points in the second quarter as the Statesmen extended their lead to 42-17 at the half.
Cavanaugh led all scorers in the contest with 19 while Rink and Tyler Cook each had 12.
Bentley Johnson led Granville Christian with nine points.

ASHVILLE — Moving the game up a day to avoid more potential bad weather didn’t bother Newark as the Wildcats posted a 71-49 win over host Teays Valley Thursday night.
The Wildcats scored the first 10 points of the night and were up 24-2 two minutes into the second quarter.
TV mounted a comeback – outscoring Newark 21-2 the rest of the half to make it a 26-23 game.
The Wildcats scored the first 11 points of the second half to get up 37-23 and never looked back.
Brody Fields led TV and all scorers with 24 points.
Braylon Morris and Jake Quackenbush led Newark with 18 points each and Ty Gilbert added 14.

NEWARK — Teays Valley came up short during their visit to Newark Thursday night as the Wildcats grabbed a 50-33 victory.
The game was within reach at half with the Wildcats up 27-23 and their lead was 38-31 after three quarters. But Newark held Teays Valley to two points over the final eight minutes to pull away.
Emma Quackenbush led all scorers as she put in 25 for the Wildcats.
Cami Robins led the Vikings with 17.
