Panthers on top again at LE Invitational
CIRCLEVILLE — Miami Trace won its fifth straight title at the Logan Elm Wrestling Invitational Saturday.
The Panthers had 281 points while Logan Elm was second with 228.5 and GlenOak was third with 173.
Westfall was sixth with 159 points, Amanda-Clearcreek was eighth with 116 and Teays Valley placed 12thwith 46.5 points.
The Braves had eight wrestlers place in the top four led by three individual champions. Dawsen Hudson took the title at 113 pounds, Gavin Hoover at 132 and Bryce Perkins won at 175.
The only other local champion was Amanda-Clearcreek’s Bodie Martin who won the title at 157 pounds.

Tigers third at Grandview
GRANDVIEW HEIGHTS — Circleville took third at the Grandview Invitational Tournament Saturday.
Westland won the 11-team tournament with 218.5 points, Bishop Ready was second with 216 and Circleville had 179.5.
The Tigers had two title winners and three runners-up.
Conner Brokaw won at 106 pounds and Andrew Siembida was the winner at 113.
Keving Downing placed second at 106, Jon Mills at 138 and Caihden Morgan at 285.

New Hope 66, Federal Hocking 47
STEWART — New Hope jumped out in front of host Federal Hocking Saturday night and never looked back on the way to a 66-47 win.
Xander Rink had 10 of his team-high 18 in the first quarter as the Statesmen jumped out to a 24-8 lead.
Scoring cooled off in the second quarter, but New Hope was still able to extend its lead to 33-13.
A 20-10 advantage in the third quarter pushed the New Hope lead to 53-23 and sealed the win for the Statesmen.
Along with Rink’s 18, New Hope was led by Hunter Cavanaugh with 10 and Tyler Cook with nine.
Federal’s Wren Ballew led all scorers with 20 points.

PIKETON — Logan Elm bounced back from Friday’s loss to take a 55-53 win on the road over Piketon Saturday.
It was a tight game with Piketon ending each of the first three quarters holding the lead — 19-17, 26-23 and 43-38.
Kiki Ingram had a game-high 25 points to lead the Braves.
Kimmy Petty had 12, Gillian Savage had eight, Maggie Wilson had five, Molly Miller three and Kennedy Groff scored two.

Amanda-Clearcreek 45, Bishop Hartley 43
ASHVILLE — Amanda-Clearcreek held off a late run by Bishop Hartley to grab a 45-43 win over Bishop Hartley as part of the Jeff Sheets Holiday Classic at Teays Valley Saturday.
The Aces had the lead up to six points midway through the fourth period, but the Hawks came back and closed to within one point with about three minutes left.
AC was able to get back on top 45-41 with a minute left. Hartley had a quick score to cut it to two but missed their final three field goal attempts.
AC’s Taylor Evans was named the game’s MVP with a game-high 19 points. Hayden Plank added 15 for AC.
