Hoover, Hudson earn Kasler scholarships

Gavin Hoover and Dawsen Hudson were recently named as winners of the Ben Kasler Memorial Fund’s annual scholarships.

The Logan Elm seniors were awarded the $2,500 scholarships for having excelled in the classroom and on the wrestling mats.

In addition, Hoover and Hudson were awarded an additional $500 each in the form of the Clay Davis Award. 

Along with the initial awards, former winners Gunner Havens and Ava Miller from Teays Valley along with Hunter Probasco and Bryce Wickline from Westfall were awarded $1,000 renewal scholarships. 

Since its inception in 2009, the Ben Kasler Memorial Fund has provided more than $120,000 in scholarships to assist 45 Pickaway County wrestlers as they pursue their education.

Gavin Hoover and Dawsen Hudson were presented the Clay Davis Award by family members Cory Davis, Kris Davis and Lora Brown.
