SUGAR GROVE — Played over two days in two venues, No. 6 Fredericktown was able to advance past No. 2 Amanda-Clearcreek 7-2.
The Central District Division V matchup got its start Tuesday on the Aces’ home field and with the Freddies using a single and five walks to take a 2-0 lead before the game was suspended by wet weather.
The contest resumed Wednesday at Berne Union.

In the bottom of the third, AC was able to push a run across when Cole Schiff scored on a passed ball to close to 2-1.
The Freddies responded in the top of the fourth with a one-out single followed by a pair of walks. Another hit drove in two. After the second out was recorded, another hit brought in the third run of the inning. A steal of home made it 6-2.
Fredericktown put its last run across in the fifth when, with the bases loaded, a hit batter forced in a run.
AC used four pitchers in the game with Gary Kemmerling getting the start and pitching an inning. He struck out two, walked three, gave up a hit and allowed two runs. Noah Chambers worked an inning striking out two and walking one. Nick Holland went 2.2 innings and struck out two, walked three, gave up eight hits and allowed five runs. Cole Schiff pitched the last 2.1 innings striking out one and giving up one hit.
Holland, Kemmerling, Bryton Carruthers, Schiff and Tanner Affolter each had a hit for the Aces.
AC wraps up the season with a 14-11 record.
