Update – per OHSAA website, game moved to 2 p.m. Friday at Groveport-Madison

DUNCAN FALLS — Logan Elm came alive with two outs in the seventh to earn a spot in Friday’s Division IV regional championship game by beating Meadowbrook 4-2 Wednesday.

With the score tied 2-2 and two outs on the board, LE’s Lucy Caplinger doubled to right. Sadie Binkley put her team in the lead when she tripled to center to score Caplinger. Brittani Lane then singled to score Binkley and make the LE lead 4-2.

Binkley returned to the pitching circle in the bottom of the inning and closed out the win by getting a groundout and shaking off an infield error to get Meadowbrook batters to fly out to left and pop up to the catcher.

Binkley struck out two, walked one, allowed five hits and two runs (one earned).

A single and an error allowed Meadowbrook to take a 1-0 lead in the bottom of the second.

LE’s Hannah Gooley scored on a wild pitch in the third to tie the game.

A leadoff walk and one-out double put Meadowbrook back up 2-1 in the fourth.

A one-out triple by Binkley followed by a fielder’s choice from Lane tied the game in the fifth.

Caplinger led the Braves with three hits and Binkley had two.

Logan Elm returns to Philo High School Friday to take on Hillsboro for the regional title. First pitch is set for 5 p.m.
