With schools back in session and the fall sports season now fully underway, I wanted to take a moment to provide a quick update on the state of the Pumpkin.
Life changes and changing time commitments will preclude the Sporting Pumpkin from being as comprehensive in its coverage as in the past. This year’s focus will be on covering key contests and to be more active in the postseason.
Our Scoreboard page will continue to be updated daily with all the scores and key statistics we are able to gather to keep you informed. (Coaches are encouraged to send game scores and key stats to johnhowley@mac.com or send a message to @sportingpumpkin on X.)
The Schedule page lists upcoming events for the five area schools and was compiled with the best information we could find.
As the Sporting Pumpkin begins its sixth year highlighting the area’s athletes and I begin coverage of my 32nd high school football season, the support from the schools and the community is greatly appreciated.
