Gallia Academy led early in the first set but 5-4 was the last time the Blue Angels held a lead in the opener. The set stayed tight for a while before the Tigers pulled away toward the end.

It was a 5-1 early advantage for GA in the third before Circleville got back on top. With Circleville leading 21-17 late, the Blue Angels battled back to 21-20.

A block out of bounds ended the little run. A kill from GA’s Aubrey Frazier put the score at 22-21. GA’s next serve went long and a ball out of bounds gave Circleville match point at 24-21.
