The road to Akron has been laid out for many of Ohio’s high school softball teams with postseason brackets filled out for most of the state.
Taking a look at the Southeast District, in Division IV, Logan Elm (13-8) picked up the No. 2 seed and Circleville (11-10) is No. 3. Jackson was named the No. 1 seed with an 18-6 record.
The top seeds open tournament play hosting games on Thursday, May 14. The games will begin at 5 p.m.
Logan Elm hosts the winner of No. 7 Vinton County and No. 10 Fairfield Union. Circleville gets the winner of No. 6 Gallia Academy and No. 11 Hillsboro.
Should both come out victorious, they would face each other on May 18 in Logan.
In Division V, Westfall (12-12) is the No. 13 seed and opens play Wednesday, May 13, at No. 12 Northwest (11-12). The winner of that game advances to Ohio University to play No. 1 seed Wheelersburg (15-3) on May 18.
In the Central District, Amanda-Clearcreek (6-13) is the No. 11 seed in Division V and will head to No. 2 Johnstown on May 14 to begin tournament play.
Liberty Union (19-1) picked up the No. 1 seed.
Division I and II softball brackets for the Central District will be announced this coming Sunday.
The state championships will take place the first week of June at Akron’s Firestone Stadium.
