Dozens of local athletes were able to earn a spot in this week’s regional track and field championships.
In all, athletes qualified in 45 events across divisions II, III and IV. Teays Valley’s girls led the way as they moved on in 15 of the 17 events.

HILLIARD — Teays Valley’s girls advanced athletes in 15 of the 17 events to place second as a team at the Central District Division II meet at Hilliard Darby.
The Vikings had five event champions led by Reese Galinger who won the 1,600- and 3,200-meter races. Abby Henderson won the 400 meters, Addison Keplar was first in the 800 meters and Raelynn McGrath won the 300-meter hurdles.
Bishop Watterson took home the championship trophy with 155.5 points while the Vikings had 135.5.
The Vikings will compete at the Lexington Regional Wednesday and Friday.

Aces place third after advancing in 10 events
GRANVILLE — Amanda-Clearcreek won four events and was second in two more as the Lady Aces qualified athletes in 10 events to the Division IV Regional at Marion Harding Wednesday and Friday.
Gavynn Sowers was a district champion in the 800 meters and 1,600 meters, Samantha Buckley was first in both the 100-meter and 300-meter hurdles and Kinsley Berger won the pole vault clearing 5’ 8”.
The Aces were third as a team with 106 points behind Fairbanks (165) and Worthington Christian (111.5)

HILLIARD — Dominick Price was the lone Amanda-Clearcreek boy to quaify to the regionals after placing fourth in the high jump at the Hilliard Bradley Division III district meet.
Price was one of five jumpers to clear 5’ 8” and placed fourth after tiebreakers were determined.
Marion Highland’s Hudson Howell won the event clearing 5’ 10”.
Prive will compete at Division III regional at Muskingum University on Saturday.
Southeast Distrct
Division III (Boys and Girls)
McARTHUR — Logan Elm’s boys placed fifth to lead the Pickaway County schools competing in the Division III Southeast District championships at Vinton Conty High School.
The Braves advanced runners in five events led by Owen Russell who won the 1,600 meters, took third in the 3,200 meters and was part of two advancing relay teams.
Logan Elm’s girls advanced athletes in two events while Circleville and Westfall boys advanced in one event each.
Circleville’s girls were unable to qualify anyone to the regional to the Muskingum University Regional Thursday and Saturday.

ALEXANDER — Westfall’s girls advanced runners in seven events competing in the West section of the Division IV Southeast District championships.
Camryn Harman led the way with a district championship in the 300-meter hurdles.
The Mustangs were sixth as a team and will compete at the Chillicothe Regional Wednesday and Friday.
