ASHVILLE — Teays Valley edged out Canal Winchester 2-1 Thursday to get itself into a Division II district title game.

Two walks to start the inning and a single from Tanner Smith loaded the bases again for the Vikings in the second. A sac fly from Dains allowed Cameron Grubb to score what turned out to be the winning run.

CW’s lone run of the contest came in the fourth when Mason Lilly hit a solo home run to center.

Brody Weiler threw five innings of three-hit baseball for the Vikings. He struck out six and didn’t allow a walk.

Dolan Antle pitched two hitless innings in relief. He walked two and struck out two.

The Vikings (17-11) are back on the diamond Friday going for a Division II title against the winner of the No. 6 Westerville South/No. 8 St. Charles game.
