Division V Regional Semifinal

ELIDA — Amanda-Clearcreek used a strong starting pitching performance along with some timely hitting to advance to a Division V regional championship with a 4-2 win over Coldwater Wednesday.
After falling behind 1-0 in the third, the Aces opened the top of the fourth with Cole Schiff reaching on an error and Collin Thomas following with a walk. After a popup, Jack Thompson was hit by a pitch to load the bases. Noah Chambers followed with an RBI single to tie the game and the Gary Kemmerling was hit by a pitch to force in a run and make it 2-1 Aces.
The Aces added two more in the sixth on a two-out double from Cole Schiff.
Coldwater added one more in bottom of the seventh before a double play brought the game to an end, sending the Aces on to a regional championship game against Liberty Benton back in Elida Thursday afternoon.
Nick Holland went 6.1 innings for the Aces before hitting his pitch limit. He struck out six, walked three and gave up two earned on seven hits. Kemmerling pitched the final two-thirds, allowing one hit.
Andrew Miller, Schiff, Chambers and Kemmerling each had two hits.
AC and Liberty Benton face off at 5 p.m. Thursday with a trip to Canton on the line.
