Wednesday’s roundup

The Teays Valley girls soccer team put together a very solid first half en route to a 0-0 tie against visiting Circleville on Wednesday in a Mid-State League Buckeye Division match.

TV struggled to settle in during the first ten minutes, but then began to control the midfield and put pressure on the Tigers. In the second half, the Vikings continued the pressure through solid play in the midfield and up front and nearly broke through midway through the half when Emilee Watson’s shot went just over the crossbar. Jozie Hammond fired a free kick across goal moments later, but it went untouched as TV remained scoreless.

Annaleigh Jett was solid in goal as she stopped two breakaway chance in the second half. Despite a handful of late chances the final would stand at 0-0. Abby Dengler recorded a pair of saves in turning in a clean sheet for the Tigers.


In JV action, the Vikings picked up a 2-0 win as Gabrielle Watkins and Lexi Algoe both scored and Paisely Feldman had an assist. Peyton Norman got the shutout in goal.

Liberty Union 1

Chase Young scored a pair of goals on Wednesday to send Teays Valley to a 4-1 MSL-Buckeye win over host Liberty Union.
Drew Thanasack and Fedya Southerington also each scored for the Vikings.
Reese Sauerbrun recorded a pair of saves in the win.

Girls Golf
Cavs win quad match

Chillicothe won the fifth-score tiebreaker over visiting Circleville on Wednesday to win a tight quad match at the Chillicothe Country Club.
The Cavaliers and Tigers each tallied 203, with Miami Trace and Logan both following with 204 apiece.
Elaina Seeley collected her seventh medalist finish on the season for the Tigers by shooting a nine-hole score of 40.
