Teays Valley turned in a strong second-place showing on Saturday in a Division I sectional held at Newark.
Dublin Coffman topped the 11-school sectional with 277 points, followed by the Vikings (199) and the host Wildcats (139.5).

Gunner Havens was one of four Vikings to win a sectional title when he pinned Dublin Coffman’s Joseph Baumann in 19 seconds during the 106-pound final. Zander Graham pinned Dublin Coffman’s James Baumann in 3:29 at 138 pounds, and Camden McDanel posted a 4-3 decision over Dublin Coffman’s Mitchell Broskie at 182 pounds. Liam Wilson prevailed 4-1 at 220 pounds against Dublin Coffman’s Michael Blocher.
Jacob Robinett (195) and Joey Thurston (285) both finished third and Kadin Walls (120), Owen Robinett (132) and Carson Weiss (145) all took fourth.
Qualifying wrestlers travel to Hilliard Darby next week for a district tournament.
Mustangs take second
Westfall also finished as a sectional runner-up on Saturday in Division III Southeast District action at Alexander.
River Valley topped the 22-team field with 192 points, followed by the Mustangs (165) and Trimble (113).

Starr Kelly won a sectional title at 195 pounds by pinning Paint Valley’s Beau Blankenship in 3:12.
Antony Hoty (106), Christian Furniss (113), Bryce Wickline (152) and Thomas Martin (160) all finished as a sectional runner-up. Wyatt Cooper (170) took third and Trey Keeton was fourth at 182.
The Mustangs travel to Coshocton next weekend for a district tournament.
Tigers, Braves at WCH
Circleville led Pickaway County schools on Saturday in a Division II Southeast District sectional by finishing fifth at Washington Court House.
Miami Trace topped the nine-team sectional with 276 points, followed by Fairfield Union (183) and the host Blue Lions (179). Circleville amassed 92 points.

Jacob Johnson claimed a sectional title at 113 pounds by pinning Miami Trace’s Titus Lehr in 4:35.
Landen Zarbaugh (106), Hayden Liff (120), Braylon Morgan (160) and Isaac Evans (195) all finished fourth.
Logan Elm was eighth with 50 points.
Cole Renier (120) and Collin Rohr (285) both finished second to lead the Braves.
Qualifying wrestlers from Circleville and Logan Elm travel to Gallia Academy next weekend for a district tournament.
