Circleville, Logan Elm and Westfall completed competition on Saturday in a Division II Southeast District meet held on the campus of Washington Court House High School.
Pickaway County athletes claimed all four regional qualifying berths in the girls pole vault. Logan Elm’s
Tayla Tootle won a district title in 11 feet, followed by teammate Aly Cotton finishing second in 10-6 feet.
Westfall’s Peyton Proffitt took third (losing tiebreaker with Cotton) at 10-6 feet and Circleville’s Payton Ford won a jump-off to take fourth at eight-feet.
Circleville’s Lily Winter claimed a district title in the 400 with a time of 1:01.47 and was third in the 200 in 27.13.
CHS teammate Faith Yancey finished as a district runner-up in the 200 in 27.08 and was fourth in the 100 in 13.22.
Pickaway County runners claim spots 2-4 in the 800, thanks to performances turned in by Circleville’s Ellie Patrick (2:28.31), Logan Elm’s Camryn Ross (2:32.41) and Circleville’s Morgan Blakeman (2:33.26).
Circleville’s Addison Lowe took third in the 400 in 1:04.86 and Westfall’s Caitlyn Shipley was fourth in the 1600 in 5:29.54.
Logan Elm’s Annie Karshner placed fourth in the discus at 102-feet.
The Circleville 800 relay team (Logan Jones, Lowe, Winter and Yancey) struck gold in 1:49.27, 400 relay team (Jones, Emma Groff, Nilyn Cockerham and Yancey) took fourth in 53.98 and the 1600 relay team (Lowe, Blakeman, Ellie Patrick and Winter) also finished fourth in 4:25.10.
Circleville finished third in the 13-school girls field with 87 points, Logan Elm was fifth at 60 and Westfall 10th with 23.5. Unioto won a district title with 102 points, followed by Wheelersburg with 98.
On the boys side, Westfall’s Marcus Whaley won district titles in the 110 hurdles (15.97), 300 hurdles (40.15) and was third in the 200 (23.29).
Circleville’s Colton Pinkerton won a district title in the 3200 (9:51.77) and claimed silver in the 1600 (4:27.50).
Logan Elm’s Nate Edge took fourth in the high jump at 5-8 feet.
Circleville’s Jesse Fuller was district runner-up in the 100 (11.33), long jump (19-10 feet) and took fourth in the 200 (23.32).
Logan Elm’s Brock Evans was third in the 800 (2:05.86) and Westfall’s Tyler Shipley took fourth (2:06.83).
The LE 1600 relay team (Cole Westenbarger, Evans, Jude Braun and Brady Wilson) finished third in 3:37.05 and the 800 relay team (Wilson, Braun, Anthony Steele and Mason Carpenter) took fourth in 1:35.75.
Circleville was fourth out of 15-schools with 53 points, Westfall took eighth with 44 and Logan Elm ninth with 43. Northwest won a district title with 122 points, followed by Hillsboro with 65.
Vikings at Darby
Teays Valley’s Natalie Newton advanced to regional by placing third in the pole vault at 10-6 feet in a Division I Central District meet held at Hilliard Darby.
The Vikings were eighth in the girls field with 23 points and 15th on the boys side with six points.
Aces at Westerville North
Amanda-Clearcreek’s Brandon Binkley advanced to regional by finishing as a district runner-up in the pole vault at 12-6 feet during Division II Central District competition at Westerville North.
Overall, the Aces finished 12th with 13 points.
