Westfall baseball moves to 2-0 with rout of McClain

Westfall scored in each of its six at-bats on Wednesday en route to a 14-3 run-rule win over host McClain in non-conference action.
The Mustangs quickly jumped out to a 5-0 advantage after an inning of play.
Trent Walters went 3-for-4 with three runs scored, Hunter Wright was 2-for-3 with a pair of RBI and Caden Foreman scored twice and drove in two runs.
Brandan Lowe went the distance, yielding just three hits and three runs (one earned) to claim the win. He walked two and struck out six.
The Mustangs (2-0) welcome in Liberty Union today for their home opener.

Circleville 4

Miami Trace used a three-run fifth inning to take control of a non-league game for good on Wednesday on its way to a 6-4 win over Circleville at VA Memorial Stadium.
The Tigers entered the bottom of the fifth with a 4-2 edge, but the Panthers ended the frame with a 5-4 lead and tacked on an insurance run in the sixth.
Wyatt Thatcher paced the Tigers by going 3-for-4, including a pair of doubles, and drove in a run, and Nolan West was 2-for-4 with a run scored.
The Tigers (1-1) are slated to host Bloom-Carroll on Friday for the Mid-State League Buckeye Division opener for both schools.
Zane Trace 10,
Logan Elm 3

Zane Trace erupted for nine runs in the third and fourth innings on Wednesday en route to a 10-3 non-league win over visiting Logan Elm.
Garet Summers singled and scored for the Braves and Gavin Griffey added a double.
The Braves (0-2) travel to VA Memorial Stadium on Friday to open up MSL-Buckeye play against Teays Valley.

Amanda-Clearcreek 2

Amanda-Clearcreek competed with defending Division I district champion Lancaster on Wednesday before falling 4-2 in a non-league game held at Beavers Field.
Peyton Cassley went 2-for-3 and drove in a run for the Aces and Cade Young added a double.
Trent Hedges allowed four runs (two earned) and struck out 10 in the loss.
The Aces (1-1) open MSL-Buckeye play on Friday at Liberty Union.
Teays Valley 4,
Jonathan Alder 3

Kennedy Cauger and Lauren Park each drove in a pair of runs on Wednesday to lift Teays Valley to a 4-3 non-league win over visiting Jonathan Alder.
The Vikings used a three-run fourth to take a 4-1 lead over the Pioneers.
Faith Thompson opened the home at-bat with a single to right, stole second and was joined on the base pads when Reagan Mengerink worked a walk. Cauger then delivered a double to left that allowed Kennedy to score and advanced Mengerink to third.
Park followed with a single to center that chased home both Mengerink and Cauger to put the Vikings ahead by three runs.
Alder scored twice in the sixth to make it 4-3 with one out, but Sydney Manring left the tying run stranded at second.
Manring earned her first varsity win by yielding just three hits and three runs (two earned). She walked three and struck out three.
Cauger went 2-for-3 with two RBI and a run scored and Thompson was 2-for-3 and scored twice for the Vikings (2-0), who host Logan Elm on Friday to open MSL-Buckeye play.

Amanda-Clearcreek erupted for eight runs in its final three at-bats on Wednesday to claim a 9-3 non-league win over visiting Westfall.
Carly Singleton paced the Aces with a single, three runs scored and a pair of RBI. Faith Jewell tripled, scored and drove in a run and Elizabeth Leverde doubled and scored.
Alyson Colliton worked five innings and allowed four hits and a pair of earned runs to claim the win.
Abbie Bickenhauser led the Mustangs by going a perfect 3-for-3 with a home run, double and RBI.
The Mustangs (1-1) host Liberty Union today for its home-opener, while the Aces (1-0) open MSL-Buckeye play the next day when they travel to Baltimore to tangle with the Lions.

Circleville secured its second win in as many days over a Frontier Athletic Conference opponent on Wednesday with a 12-2 rout over host Miami Trace.
The Tigers (2-0) host Bloom-Carroll on Friday to open MSL-Buckeye competition.

The Braves dropped to 0-2 on the season with a non-league setback to host Zane Trace.
Logan Elm hosts defending Division I district champion Lancaster today as it continues non-league play.
