KINNIKINNICK — A couple Mustangs vaulted their way into the SVC record book Friday during the league championship meet at Zane Trace High School.
Westfall’s Tyler Shipley cleared 14’ 4” in claiming the boys Pole vault title while Peyton Proffitt went 11’ 6” for the win on the girls’ side. Both are new Scioto Valley Conference records.
Proffitt also picked up wins in the long jump and 100-meter hurdles as well as placing second in the 200 meters to claim meet medalist honors and help her team to third place.
Unioto earned team titles in both the boy’s and girls’ meets.
The Shermans had 162 points, with Adena second at 128 and Westfall third with 113 for the girls.
Unioto’s boys picked up 149 points to best second-place Zane Trace’s 133. Westfall finished sixth with 59 points.
