Washington Court House scored a run in its final at-bat on Monday to walk-off with a 2-1 win over Circleville in a Division II Southeast District semifinal played at Ohio University.
Jonah Waters opened the home seventh by singling to center. Pinch-runner RJ Foose was sacrificed to second by John Wall, advanced to third on a ground out from Bryce Yeazel and scored on a wild pitch.
The Blue Lions (20-5) loaded the bases in the fourth with none out but had to settle for just one run to take a 1-0 lead.
Circleville (16-12) tied the game in the sixth.
Austin Gray opened the inning by singling to left and pinch-runner Parker Kidwell advanced to second on a ground out by Tate DeBord and to third on a passed ball. Kidwell scored on an error on a ground ball back to the pitcher hit by Matt Bradley to tie the game.
Bradley, Gray, Scott Moats and Wyatt Thatcher each singled in the loss.
Nick Burns took the tough loss, allowing four hits and two runs (one earned) over six and two-third innings. He walked a batter and struck out four.
The Tigers lose Burns, Thatcher and Colin Michael to graduation after returning to the district tournament for the first time since 2019.
