A pair of Pickaway County runners concluded the season on Saturday at the Division II state cross country championship.
Westfall junior Caitlyn Shipley turned in a time of 20:26.5 on the course of Fortress Obetz to finish 64th out of 178 runners. Shipley moved up 22 spots in the final 1.1 mile.
The finish for Shipley was an improvement of seven spots from last season when she ran in the Division III race.
Circleville sophomore Maddux Bigam ran a time of 20:33.5 to finish 75th.
Bigam moved up 10 spots from her finish a season ago.
Shipley was making her third consecutive appearance in the state championships, while Bigam was running the course for the second-straight year.
Oakwood’s Bella Butler won the race in 18:09.8, followed by Waynesville’s Samantha Erbach taking second in 18:24.0.
