A trio of Teays Valley pitchers combined to check Northeast (Tenn.) to five hits on Friday, leading the Vikings to a 4-1 win at the Donny Everett Classic in Clarksville, Tenn.
Matt Farmer started the game and went two and two-third innings and allowed a hit, an unearned run, walked two and struck out two. Hayden Wells tossed the next three and one-third innings, scattering four hits, walking a batter and striking out four. Tyler Mathews needed just five pitches to complete the final frame.

Teays Valley dented the plate in its first at-bat to take a 1-0 lead.
Trevor Hamilton lined a single to right with one out and was eventually forced in on consecutive walks to Ivan Smith, Landon Vandegrift and Matthew Farmer with two outs.
The Vikings went back to work in the second and doubled their lead.
Thomas Sites drew a walk with one out, advanced to second on a fielder’s choice hit into by Ben France and scored on a Hamilton line drive to right.
Northeast scored its lone run in the third, but the Vikings eventually countered by pushing across a pair of insurance runs in the fifth when Wesley Henderson and Jeremiah Fabbro scored on a pair of passed balls.
Hamilton went 3-for-4 with an RBI and run scored and Landen McFarland was 2-for-3 to lead the Vikings (4-1).
