Teays Valley scored eight times in its first two at-bats on Monday and used a three-hitter from Matt Farmer to run-rule host Fairfield Union 10-0 in a six-inning Mid-State League Buckeye Division game.
The Vikings wasted no time getting started, loading the bases with one out in the first on singles by Jeremiah Fabbro, Landon Vandegrift and Ivan Smith.
Trevor Hamilton then reached on an error that allowed Fabbro to score.
Farmer put the Vikings ahead 2-0 when he singled to left and knocked in Vandegrift.
Following the second out of the inning, McFarland lined a double to center that chased home both Smith and Hamilton.
Farmer then scored on a passed ball to put the Vikings ahead 5-0.
Teays Valley went back to work in the second.
Vandegrift doubled, advanced to third on an error and scored when Hamilton lined a single to left.
Back-to-back errors on balls hit by Farmer and France allowed pinch runner Rohrer and Hamilton to score.
Vandegrift went 3-for-4 with three runs scored, Farmer contributed a 2-for-4 day with an RBI and two runs scored and McFarland was 2-for-3 and drove in three runs.
Farmer pitched a complete game three-hitter, walking one and striking out six. The TV senior threw 79 pitches, 58 of which were strikes.
The Vikings (6-2, 3-0) continue league play on Wednesday when they host Hamilton Township.
