Braves fall twice to Bulldogs

Logan Elm dropped a pair of 4-1 Mid-State League Buckeye Division matches on Tuesday to visiting Bloom-Carroll.

Collin Laveck defeated Logan Elm’s Owen Braun 6-4 and 6-2 at first singles, Bloom-Carroll’s Charlie Gombas beat Jude Schaal 6-1 and 6-3 at second singles and B-C teammate Joe Brown-Borden prevailed 6-4 and 6-1 at third singles over Sam Braun.

The Bloom-Carroll first doubles team of Logan Drury and Ryan Benger topped Maggie Wilson and Maddox Arledge 7-6 and 6-1. The Logan Elm second doubles squad of Mason Wolfe and Will Higginbotham recorded a 7-5 and 6-3 win over Rennick Foreman and Colby Sprague.

In the second match, Laveck defeated Owen Braun 6-2 and 6-0, Gombas bested Schaal on straight sets of 6-3 and 6-3 and Brown-Borden rallied from a first set loss to top Sam Braun 4-6, 6-2 and 7-6.

Drury and Bender rallied from a second set loss to outlast Wilson and Arledge 7-6, 6-7 and 10-5 and Wolfe and Higginbotham topped Foreman and Sprague 2-6, 6-3 and 6-1.

The Braves (9-4, 4-3) travel to former MSL-Buckeye foe Canal Winchester on Wednesday for a non-league tilt.
