Brenden Tuttle was one out away from a no-hitter on Wednesday when Paint Valley’s Jace Rinehart singled to right field.
Tuttle came right back and struck out the next batter looking to complete a dominating outing on Wednesday and send Westfall to a 4-0 Scioto Valley Conference win over host Paint Valley.
Tuttle used 109 pitches to turn in a complete game and struck out seven Bearcats along the way.
After four scoreless innings between the two conference rivals, the Mustangs finally broke through with a run in the fifth.

Walters advanced to second on the play, advanced to third on a passed ball and scored when Tuttle helped his own cause with a single to center.
Harwood had two hits to pace the Mustangs (9-4, 6-4), who continue conference play on Friday when they host Piketon.
