Braves earn 4-1 win over rival Tigers

Logan Elm capped a busy week on Thursday with a 4-1 Mid-State League Buckeye Division win over visiting Circleville.

“Circleville put up a good fight tonight. I am especially pleased with the win since we were down a player (Mason Wolfe) and had to shuffle the lineup a little,” Logan Elm coach Tony Clouse said. “Owen Braun was a great leader tonight, even in a loss, by showing so much determination and grit.

“Both doubles teams worked through some tough situations to get wins.  I’m proud of everyone’s effort’s considering we played five matches in the last four days.”

The LE first doubles team of Maddox Arledge and Sam Braun defeated Reid Seimetz and Carlos Vazquez 7-6 and 6-2. The LE second doubles team of Will Higginbotham and Scotty Gaskin bounced back from a first set loss to outlast Liam Goodhart and Slater Search 5-7, 6-3 and 6-4.

Logan Elm’s Jude Schaal earned a second singles win.
