A throwing error allowed Delana Landefeld to score the winning run in the bottom of the seventh on Friday, lifting Westfall to a 4-3 Scioto Valley Conference win over visiting Zane Trace.
Landefeld reached on an infield single to second to open the home seventh. Ava Heath then put down a bunt to advance Landefeld into scoring position, but the pitcher threw the ball down the right field line, allowing Landefeld to score.
Zane Trace jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the first.
Westfall reached the scoreboard in the fourth when Makayla Cook doubled to right and courtesy runner Logan McNeal scored on a single to right off the bat of Sydney Fuller.
The Mustangs went back to work in the fifth to take a 3-2 lead when Heath walked and scored when Olivia Dumm smacked a 1-1 offering over the left field fence.
Fuller went a perfect 3-for-3 with an RBI and Landefeld was 2-for-4 and scored for the Mustangs.
Dumm allowed four hits and an earned run over seven innings to claim the win. The senior right-hander walked two and struck out five.
The Mustangs (12-10, 9-4) host Lynchburg-Clay on Monday for a non-league game.
