Tigers run-rule Rangers in five innings

Circleville pounded out 18 hits on Friday in an 18-2 Mid-State League Buckeye Division win over host Hamilton Township in five innings.

The Tigers jumped out to a 4-0 lead in the first.

Chandler Hayes led off the game with a single up the middle and scored one out later on a double off the right center field fence off the bat of Cara Cooper. Gabby McConnell followed with a single to right that scored Cooper.

Circleville’s Cara Cooper doubled twice and drove in three runs on Friday against Hamilton Township.

McConnell advanced to third on a single to left by Ella Michael and scored on a ground out off the bat of Gracie Riddick.

Audrey Cowdery followed with a single to left that scored Michael.

The Tigers extended their lead to 6-1 after two innings and 13-1 through three complete.

Hayes went a perfect 3-for-3 with a triple and two RBI, Cooper doubled twice and drove in three runs, McConnell singled twice and drove in a run, Michael singled, doubled and drove in two, Katie Folkes singled twice, and Alyssa Liston had three hits, including a double, and drove in a pair of runs.

McConnell allowed five hits and an earned run over five innings to earn the win. The junior hurler walked none and struck out seven.

Circleville (16-6, 9-4) hosts Logan on Saturday morning for a non-league game.
