Local teams learn tourney path

Teays Valley (13-6) was seeded 16th out of 50 schools in Division I Central District tournament on Sunday and is slated to host No. 34 seeded St. Charles (8-10) on May 15 in a sectional semifinal.

The Vikings opened the season against St. Charles and claimed a 7-1 win behind the performance on the mound by ace Matt Farmer.

The winner would then travel to eighth-seeded Lancaster (16-6) on May 17 for a sectional final.

Ben France and his Teays Valley teammates are slated to host St. Charles on May 15 for a sectional semifinal.

In Division III, Amanda-Clearcreek (3-12) was seeded No. 15 and is slated to host No. 16 seeded Grove City Christian (6-8) on May 16 for a sectional semifinal.

The winner would then travel to fifth-seeded Heath (12-6) on May 18 for a sectional final.

Southeast District

Circleville (15-8) was seeded seventh out of 18 schools in Division II and is slated to host No. 10 seeded Athens (12-7) on May 15 at 5 p.m. for a sectional semifinal.

The Tigers hosted Athens two days ago, winning the non-league game 7-3.

Logan Elm (3-17) was seeded No. 16 and is slated to host No. 17 seeded Vinton County (7-14) at noon on Saturday in a sectional quarterfinal.

The winner would then travel to top-seeded Washington Court House (17-1) on May 15 for a sectional semifinal.

In Division III, Westfall (10-9) was seeded No. 14 out of 29 schools and is slated to travel to No. 11 seeded South Point (14-7) on May 18 at 5 p.m. for a sectional final.
