Season outlook: Long-time coach Brian Barnett will be able to call upon a very experienced lineup, as the Vikings try to win one last Mid-State League Buckeye Division championship before they depart for the Ohio Capital Conference for the 2024-25 school year.
Barnett has intentionally loaded the first half of the schedule to prepare the Vikings for postseason competition in September, as they will be playing in the Pickerington Central Invitational and then travel to Canton for the Polar Bear Classic in the opening days of the season.
“We are returning the majority of our team from 2022. We have a lot of varsity experience coming back, led by James Bush, who is a two-time first-team honoree in the MSL,” Barnett said. “Depth for us should be good this season as we have a good group of juniors that will push for varsity time.
“I think that our experience and course management skills will help us this season. I believe our short games are the main strength of our team along with our depth. Our long game and accuracy from the 150 yards in are going to be areas that we will focus on the most, especially early in the season.”
