Tigers finish second at Fairfield Union Invite

The Circleville girls golf team finished second on Friday in the 14-team Fairfield Union Invitational held at Pumpkin Vine Golf Course.

Sheridan led the field with an 18-hole score of 356, followed by Circleville with 359 and John Glenn taking third with 368.

Elaina Seeley turned in a scorecard of 69, including 30 on the back nine, to break the program’s 18-hole record and finish as runner-up medalist. Isabelle Perini shot 88, Izzy Seeley had 80 and Lis Sharp fired 113.

“Elaina played an exceptional round of golf,” Circleville coach Eric Evans praised. “Her distance control and short game were both at an elite level today.

“It has been a very big goal for her to shoot an under par 18 and I couldn’t be prouder of how she performed today.”

Circleville travels to Crown Hill Golf Club on Monday for the first Mid-State League match of the season.
