Tigers pull out brooms against Blue Lions

Circleville put a damper on the celebration of new tennis courts at Washington Court House by sweeping the Blue Lions 5-0 on Tuesday in non-league action.


“All of our kids are learning a lot as we go in practice and during our first match, and I am excited to see how the season will play out for us,” Circleville coach Shaina Palda said.


Madison Jarrell earned a 6-3 and 6-2 win at first singles against Washington Court House’s Jill Frederick, Circleville’s Kaylah Huggins recorded a 6-3 and 6-4 decision at second singles over Kate Bailey and CHS teammate Cora Wilson pitched a 6-0 and 6-0 shutout at third singles against Desaray Williams.


The CHS first doubles team of Alexis Dyke and Alivia Dyke prevailed 6-1 and 6-0 over Siddhi Patel and Sam Dallmayer. The CHS second doubles unit of Julia Sturgill and Lily Sheets earned a 6-3 and 6-2 win against Adysun Bartruff and Gretchen Reed.

The Tigers (1-0) continue non-league play on Wednesday when they host London.
