Vikings to induct five into Athletic Hall of Fame

Teays Valley High School is slated to induct five new members into its Athletic Hall of Fame on Friday prior to the football game against Logan.

Cailey Grier
Class of 2018

Cailey earned eight varsity letters in cross country, track and softball.

She was a member of the 2016 Division I team that finished ninth in the regional championship, which was the highest finish at a regional in program history.

Cailey was a Pickaway County individual champion (2016), first-team all-county (2014, 2015 and 2016), first-team Mid-State League Buckeye Division (2015 and 2016), second-team all-league (2014) and honorable mention all-league (2017).

She was first-team Central District, all-region and also qualified for the state championships in 2016.

Cailey was also a member of the 2015 Division I state championship softball team.

Meredith Keel
Class of 2018

Meredith earned eight varsity letters, four each in softball and basketball.

She was named Mid-State League Buckeye Division Player of the Year in softball in 2017 and 2018 and Central District honorable mention.

Meredith was a member of the 2015 Division I state championship softball team, 2016 Division I state runner-up softball team and 2018 Division I state semifinalist softball team.

She holds the single-season batting average record and is second for all-time career hits at Teays Valley.

In basketball, Meredith was second-team all-league in 2015, 2016 and 2017 and honorable mention in 2018. She was the member of league championship teams in 2015, 2016 and 2018.

Katelyn Loughman
Class of 2018

Katelyn earned four varsity letters in softball while being a number of the 2015 Division I state championship softball team, 2016 Division I state runner-up softball team and 2018 Division I state semifinalist softball team.

Her accomplishments include first-team Mid-State League Buckeye Division and Central District in 2018.

Katelyn holds single-season records for hits (57), doubles (19), runs (56) and second for home runs (eight). She also holds career marks for hits (179), second for doubles (36), RBI (130) and home runs (15).

Kelly England
Class of 1989

Kelly earned four varsity letters in wrestling and football.

He was on the 1987 All-Pickaway County football team and a Mid-State League champion, two-time outstanding wrestler as a junior and senior, two-time state qualifier, sectional champion and league champion and a two-time all-state winner.

Coach Todd Nace
Todd has been a member of the Teays Valley School District for 30 years and head wrestling coaching for 23 years. He has also taught history and physical education.

Todd has guided the Vikings to 13 Mid-State League Buckeye Division championships, three sectional titles, multiple sectional runner-up finishes, 10 top 10 finishes in district tournaments.

He has coached 46 state qualifiers, including 18 placers and one state champion, and has been an integral part in the creation of the girls wrestling team at Teays Valley.
