CHILLICOTHE — With only 18 holes of golf left, Unioto took a one-point lead over Westfall after Wednesday’s SVC matchup at the Jaycees Golf Course in Chillicothe.
The Shermans posted a 172 to win Wednesday’s league match with Zane Trace a shot behind at 173 and the Mustangs in third with 176.
After the Mustangs won the first four SVC matchups, Unioto has won the last two with Westfall finishing fourth and third. Unioto has 44 team points and the Mustangs 43. Zane Trace is third with 36.
Unioto’s Charlie Lewis was match medalist with a 37. Southeastern’s Brayden Popp and ZT’s Jon Grondolsky were one off the pace with a 40.
Brendan Biegler led the Mustangs with a 41, Jacob Hicks, Colton Brungarth and Isaac Stevens each had a 45 to complete the team scoring. Ian Camden (48) and Dalton Bush (49) also competed for the Mustangs.
Team scores: Unioto 172, Zane Trace 173, Westfall 176, Southeastern 193, Piketon 196, Huntington 196, Adena 198.
The boys wrap up their SVC season with 18 holes tomorrow morning at the Donald Ross designed Portsmouth Elks Country Club.
