BB — Logan Elm 15, Amanda-Clearcreek 10
CIRCLEVILLE — Logan Elm put together a couple of big innings to beat Amanda-Clearcreek 15-10 Wednesday afternoon.
A wild pitch and an RBI single helped the Aces to a 2-0 lead in the top of the second.
The Braves (4-3, 2-1) came back with five in the bottom half of the inning. LE opened with a walk, scored on a one-out single and then had four straight two-out singles to plate four more runners and go up 5-2.
In the third, the Aces (2-7, 1-4) had three two-out singles to make it 5-3.
A walk, a sacrifice, an error and single to start the fourth gave AC another run. With two outs, the Aces had two more RBI singles to plate three runs and go up 7-5.
The Braves came back in the bottom of the inning and sent 13 batters to the plate. They used five walks, three singles and an error to put eight runs and go up 13-7.
LE added two in the sixth and the Aces put three across in the seventh to finish out the scoring.
Josh Hunter went 3-3 at the plate and drove in three for the Braves. Kyle Rine had three RBI as well. Kelton Bennington, Camden Ebert and Carson Summers each had a pair of hits.
Blayne Barker had three hits and drove in two for the Aces. Breece Stone also had three hits. Bodie Martin and Nick Holland each had a pair of hits with Brady Holbrook drive in two runs.
Grant Cline started on the mound for the Braves. He pitched 3.2 innings allowing seven runs (four earned) on eight hits with two walks and five strikeouts. Zane Seimer got the win in relief. He gave up three runs (two earned) on five hits with two walks and two strikeouts.
Peter Brockman started for the Aces. He went 3.1 innings and allowed 10 runs (all earned) on 10 hits with four walks and three strikeouts.
Drew Dossman took the loss as he gave up one earned run. Nick Holland finished out the game. He pitched 2.2 innings allowing four runs (three earned) on four hits with three walks and a strikeout.
BB — Fairfield Union 7, Teays Valley 2
LANCASTER — A quick start gave Fairfield Union the early lead and the Falcons went on to grab a 7-2 win over visiting Teays Valley Wednesday.
Three singles and two TV errors led to three Falcon runs in the bottom of the first before the first out was recorded.
One hit and three errors helped the Falcons put two more runs across in the third for a 5-0 lead.
The Vikings (3-7, 1-1) broke through in the fourth. With one out, an error and a walk set up Westin Woodrum to drive in a run on a double to right. Jacob Stir followed with a sac fly to drive in another run.
The Falcons answered in the bottom of the fourth as they got their first two on base through errors and then added a run on a groundout. After a hit batter, a sacrifice bunt brought in the game’s final run.
The Vikings had a rough day in the field with eight errors that resulted in five unearned runs.
TV had four hits in the game with Woodrum collecting two doubles.
Brody Weiler took the loss for the Vikings, giving up three runs (two earned) and three hits.
Gavin Gilpen took over in the first and recorded three outs. Tyler Matthews pitched four innings giving up four unearned runs on three hits while recording eight strikeouts. Luke Reese pitched the last inning, striking out two.
BB — Southeastern 2, Westfall 0
WILLIAMSPORT — Southeastern came through in a tight game to leave Westfall with a 2-0 win Wednesday.
A scoreless game through four innings, the Panthers opened the fifth with a walk. After an infield pop out and a strikeout, a single from Lane Williams drove in a run. After another walk, Gage Cheadle singled in another run.
The Mustangs (3-3, 1-2) threatened in their final at-bat as they put a pair of runners on with two outs, but were unable to put a run across.
Brenden Tuttle started for the Mustangs and went 5.1 innings. He gave up two runs (one earned) on three hits with four walks and he struck out six. Michael Harwood finished out the game and he struck out one.
The Mustangs collected five hits with Bryce Wickline getting a double and a single and Brady Mullins getting two singles.
BB — Hamilton Township 4, Circleville 3
OBETZ — Two runs in the bottom of the seventh lifted Hamilton Township to a 4-3 win over visiting Circleville Wednesday.
Circleville took a 2-1 lead in the fourth after Lane Adams singled and then scored on a double from Brody Brisker. Brisker scored two batters later when Kiser Cassidy reached on an error.
HT tied the game in the bottom of the inning.
In the top of the seventh, Circleville took the lead JD Reuter scored on a wild pitch.
In the bottom of the seventh, the Rangers started off with a single and a walk. They tied the game with an RBI double.
The Tigers (2-4, 1-2) issued an intentional walk to load the bases, but a wild pitch brought in the winning run.
Reuter pitched the first six innings for the Tigers. He allowed two runs on five hits with a walk and five strikeouts. Kaiden Bigley and Brisker worked the mound in the seventh.
