Fuller homers twice for Mustangs; Vikings beat Rangers; Tigers top Falcons in five; LE nips Lions; Aces fall to BC

SB — Westfall 16, Zane Trace 2 (5 innings)

WILLIAMSPORT — Zane Trace didn’t have an answer for Sydney Fuller Monday as Westfall claimed a 16-2 SVC win. 

Fuller went 4-4 at the plate. Those four hits included a two-run home run in the first inning and a grand slam in the second. She ended the game having driven in half of the team’s runs. 

The grand slam was part of an eight-run second inning where Westfall sent 12 batters to the plate.

Gabby Henry and Delana Landefeld each added three hits for Westfall (3-5, 3-1). 

Adrina Hicks got the win on the mound as she went the distance. She allowed two earned runs in the first inning and gave up six hits, walked two and struck out four. 

SB — Teays Valley 10, Hamilton Township 2

ASHVILLE — Teays Valley puts runs across the plate in the late innings to beat visiting Hamilton Township 10-2 Monday. 

With the game tied 2-2, the Vikings (7-2, 3-1) collected three doubles, a triple and single in the bottom of the fifth to take a 6-2 lead. 

Three doubles and a single in the sixth put TV up 10-2.

Alyvia Lawrentz went 4-4 for the afternoon, including a double, scored three times and drove in three runs.

Aimee DeWeese went 3-4, including a triple and a double, scored three times and drive in two. 

Isabel Sayre didn’t have a hit in her stat line Monday, but the senior still drove in four runs. Sayre pitched six innings and gave up two unearned runs on six hits and struck out six. 

Lawrentz struck out three as she pitched the seventh inning in relief.

SB — Circleville 15, Fairfield Union 4 (5 innings)

LANCASTER — Two of Circleville’s hits left the park Monday as the Tigers beat Fairfield Union 15-4 Monday. 

Trailing 4-2 in the third, Gabby McConnell hit a two-run home run to center to tie the game. 

Circleville (5-4, 4-1) collected eight hits as 14 batters went to the plate in the fourth inning. The eighth hit was a two-run homer from Claire Davis to finish up an 11-run inning.

McConnell had three hits and drove in three, while scoring twice. 

Kaylee West and Ella Michael each had two hits for the Tigers. 

Kayle Emswiler had the big hit for the Falcons (7-4, 2-3) with a three-run home run in the second. 

Audrey Cowdery started for Circleville and pitched an inning and a third. She gave gave up four runs (three earned) on five hits with a walk and strikeout. 

McConnell came on in relief and pitched 3.2 innings. She allowed two hits, walked one and struck out five. 

SB — Logan Elm 4, Liberty Union 3

BALTIMORE — A three-run fifth was just what Logan Elm needed to get a 4-3 win at Liberty Union Monday. 

Trailing 2-1, two-out singles from Sadie Binkley, Taylor Fowler, Jaycie Clifton and Ryleigh Wolfe put LE back on top 4-2.

LE (8-1, 3-1)had the early lead when the Braves started the game with an error and an RBI single from Binkley. 

Binkley went 3-4 at the plate and Fowler was 2-4.

Binkley went the distance for the Braves. She gave up three runs (two earned) on eight hits while walking three and struck out five. 

SB — Bloom-Carroll 11, Amanda-Clearcreek 7

CARROLL — A big first inning from host Bloom-Carroll left Amanda-Clearcreek trying to catch up in an 11-7 loss at Bloom-Carroll Monday. 

The Bulldogs (5-5, 3-1) used a double, three singles, two walks and an error to put six runs across in the bottom of the first before an out was recorded. Two more walks had the bases loaded when the Aces turned a double play and then got a groundout to end the inning. 

Both teams had a run in the fourth with AC (3-6, 2-5) scoring theirs off a home run to center from Makenna Singleton. 

The Aces used five walks, a hit batter and an error to score four times in the fifth to make the score 8-5. 

A leadoff home run gave BC a 9-5 lead in the bottom of the fifth.

Two one-out errors and a single set up the Aces for two more runs in the sixth.

BC responded with three more in the bottom of the inning to close out the game’s scoring. 

Payton Singleton had AC’s other hit Monday. 

Abby King started in the circle for the Aces and gave up six runs on four hits with four walks but was unable to record an out. Makenna Singleton came on and went the rest of the way in relief. She gave up five runs on six hits with five walks and she struck out three.
