BB — Teays Valley 3, Hamilton Township 0
ASHVILLE — Two-out hits in the fourth, fifth and sixth innings lifted Teays Valley to a 3-0 win over Hamilton Township Monday.
Landen Hankinson had an RBI single in the fourth, Jeremiah Fabbro had an RBI double in the fifth and Tyler Mathews had an RBI single in the sixth to account for the Vikings’ runs.
The Vikings (4-7, 2-1) managed just six hits in the game with Landon Vandegrift accounting for a double and a single and Jacob Stir collecting the other hit.
Tanner Kelly pitched the first two innings for the Vikings. He gave up a hit, walked one and struck out two.
Luke Reese got the win as he pitched four scoreless innings in relief. He gave up two hits, walked one and struck out two.
Gavin Gilpen gave up one hit in pitching a scoreless seventh to finish out the game.
BB — Logan Elm 10, Liberty Union 6
BALTIMORE — Logan Elm made things happen with two out in the sixth Monday to beat host Liberty Union 10-6.
Trailing 4-3 to start the sixth, the Braves (6-3, 4-1) saw two of their first three batters retired.
A single from Brady Neff brought in the tieing run and then Josh Hunter reached on error to put LE up and extend the inning.
The Braves took advantage of the extra time to get a single from Kyle Rine, an RBI-single from Camden Ebert, an RBI-double from Kelton Bennington and then a two-run single from Keegan Diehl to go up 9-4.
LE added another run on a single from Neff.
The Lions (2-6, 1-4) put two more on the board in the bottom of the inning before the Braves got the final out for the win.
Dylan Neff went all seven innings for the Braves. He gave up six runs (two earned) on nine hits with two walks and he struck out six.
BB — Circleville 6, Fairfield Union 4 (9 innings)
LANCASTER — Circleville finished strong to get a 6-4, nine-inning win at Fairfield Union Monday.
With the game tied 3-3 in the ninth, Kole Nungester drew a one-out walk, Austin Gray was walked and Drew Thornsley was hit by a pitch to load the bases. Lane Adams walked to put CHS up. Glavine Bigam then singled to drive in a run and Brody Brisker was hit by a pitch to put the score at 6-3 in favor of the Tigers.
The Falcons scored one unearned run in the bottom of the inning before Kaiden Bigley struck out Garrett Dilcher to end the game.
Fairfield Union (5-5, 4-2) outhit the Tigers 12-6, but Circleville (3-5, 2-3) got six runners on by walks and six as hit batters.
JD Reuter started and went five innings for Circleville. He gave up three earned runs on seven hits while walking four and striking out five.
Bigley got the win pitching four innings in relief. He gave up one unearned run on five hits and struck out two.
BB — Bloom-Carroll 6, Amanda-Clearcreek 0
CARROLL — Amanda-Clearcreek was able to muster only two hits in a 6-0 loss at Bloom-Carroll Monday.
Four errors led to all six BC (6-7, 4-1) runs being unearned in Monday’s Mid-State League contest.
With a single in the second inning and one in the seventh, Breece Stone had both of AC’s hits.
Peter Brockman started for the Aces (2-9, 1-6) and went five innings. He gave up six unearned runs on six hits, walked four and struck out four. Drew Dossman pitched one inning and struck out two.
BB — Zane Trace 5, Westfall 0
WILLIAMSPORT — Westfall came out on the short end of a 5-0 score against Zane Trace in an SVC matchup Monday.
After three scoreless innings, ZT put a run on the scoreboard in the fourth. A two-run triple in the sixth put ZT up 3-0 and the Pioneers added two more in the seventh.
Westfall (3-5, 1-3) had five singles in the game.
Brenden Tuttle went the first five innings for the Mustangs. He gave up a run on one hit while walking seven and striking out 10.
Trent Gardner pitched an inning giving up two runs on two hits with a walk. Michael Harwood pitched the seventh and gave up two runs on a hit with two walks.
