Mustangs outscore Huntsmen; Aces take down Rangers; Tigers fall to BC

SB — Westfall 14, Huntington 13

CHILLICOTHE — In a game with 27 runs and 33 hits, it came down to the final inning for Westfall to lock up a 14-13 win at Huntington Friday.

The Mustangs collected eight hits in jumping out to a 7-0 lead in the first inning. 

Even with a four-run fourth and adding a run in the fifth, Westfall was down 13-12 entering the final at-bat.

Madalyn Staley singled with one out. 

With two outs, Joni Snyder connected on a ground ball and an error allowed Staley to score and keep the inning alive. 

After another Huntington error gave Westfall two baserunners, Ava Heath singled to bring in Snyder and put Westfall up 14-13. 

Huntington managed to get two runners on base with two outs in the bottom of the seventh before Westfall closed out the win.  

Some untimely errors for the Mustangs led to only three of Huntington’s 13 runs being earned. 

Adrina Hicks went the distance for Westfall. She gave up 15 hits, walked three and struck out four. 

Heath Went 4-5 at the late with four RBI. 

Sydney Fuller, Jill Butcher and Staley each had three hits for the Mustangs.

Westfall had 18 hits Friday.

SB — Amanda-Clearcreek 13, Hamilton Township 3 (6 innings)

AMANDA — Amanda-Clearcreek pounded out 17 hits in sending Hamilton Township home with a 13-3 loss in six innings Friday. 

Braeleigh Blosser only had one hit in the game, but she made the most of it with a three-run home run in the third. 

Ady Gilbert had two hits with one being s solo home run in the sixth. 

Alex Martin had four hits, including a double. Kaylee Roberts had three hits and Averie Hutchison had three (two doubles). 

Casadee Steinmetz pitched for the Aces. She gave up three runs (two earned) on five hits with two walks and she struck out seven. 

SB — Bloom-Carroll 9, Circleville 1

CIRCLEVILLE — Bloom-Carroll pounded out 14 hits Friday to leave Circleville with a 9-1 win. 

Six Circleville errors helped the Bulldogs to score seven unearned runs. 

Circleville’s lone score came in the fourth inning when Gabby McConnell singled to drive in a run. 

McConnell also was the pitcher of record for the Tigers as she went seven innings allowing 14 hits, walking one and striking out five.
