Mustangs have season ended; Vikings in weather delay

SB — Fairfield 8, Westfall 0

LEESBURG — Fairfield ended Westfall’s season with an 8-0 decision Thursday.

The Lions held Westfall to three hits on the afternoon. 

No. 7 seeded Fairfield got the scoring going with a two-out RBI single and back-to-back RBI doubles for a 3-0 lead after two innings. 

Fairfield added two runs in the third and three more in the fourth.

Westfall only had two runners on base in one inning as the Lions played error-free ball.

The Mustangs’ hits came from Gabby Henry, Sydney Fuller and Jill Butcher. 

Adrina Hicks went the distance for Westfall. She gave up eight runs (seven earned) on 11 hits with two walks and two strikeouts.

The Mustangs finish the season with a 9-12 record. 

Fairfield advances to face No. 6 Northwest (a 10-0 winner over North Adams) at Ohio University Monday. 

Central District Division I
SB — Teays Valley 6, Logan 2 (delayed top of 4)

ASHVILLE — Teays Valley’s tournament opener was suspended in the bottom of the fourth with the Vikings holding a 6-2 lead over Logan. 

The game will be picked up where they left off on Friday with TV’s Micah Mann on second with no outs.
