Fairfield Union claims MSL boys title

LANCASTER — Fairfield Union won five of Friday’s 11 running events to get the best of the other Mid-State League Buckeye Division teams in winning the league title. 

The Falcons finished with 144 points while Liberty Union was second with 106 points. 

Teays Valley was fifth with 87 points, Logan Elm had 52, Amanda-Clearcreek had 43 and Circleville had 30. 

Among the winners for the Falcons was Chayse Lipscomb who set a new MSL record with his win in the 300-meter hurdles in 37.83 seconds.

Pickaway County had two runners earn titles. 

Logan Elm’s Keegan Kidd won the 800 meters in 2:01.04, just beating out Liberty Union’s Conner Tighe (2:01.19).

Jayden Woods earned the distinction of being one of the last two Teays Valley boys to win an MSL title as he beat the competition in the 100 meters. Woods crossed the finish line in 11.22 seconds with Bloom-Carroll’s Dylan Armentrout second in 11.34 seconds.
