The 2024 fall sports season has begun with area golfers hitting the links to compete.
Westfall senior Paige Weiss got her season off to a great start taking medalist honors Thursday at the Adam Sharp Memorial and Friday at the Lady Falcon Invitational.

Mustangs take both sides of Adam Sharp Memorial
MCCLAIN — Westfall’s boys and girls golf teams captured titles at the Adam Sharp Memorial hosted by McClain High School Thursday at Buckeye Hills Country Club.
Senior Paige Weiss led the Mustangs earning medalist honors with a nine-hole score of 30 (par 35).
Seniors Caroline Sever and Marianna Packer each posted a 37 and sophomore Michelle Pickett posted a 47 for a team score of 151. Junior Kathryn Lockhart shot a 52.
Zane Trace was second with a score of 183 led by freshman Rosella Lattavo who shot 33.
Circleville was fifth with a 197 and Logan Elm was 10th with a 213.
The Tigers were led by junior Isabelle Perini with a 37 with junior Alyssa Sharp shooting a 52, senior Maddux Bigam had a 53 and junior Ava Justice rounded out the scoring with a 55. Sophomore Aleigh Michael shot a 66.
Logan Elm was led by freshman Lily Slusher with a 46. Senior Mallory Stevens shot a 48, senior Addison Lester had a 57 and senior Anna Fike had a 62 to finish up the scoring. Sophomore Jessika Fike shot a 67.
On the boys’ side, Westfall and Chillicothe each had a team scored of 157 with the Mustangs taking the tiebreaker for the title.
Westfall sophomore Colton Brungarth was medalist with a 36 (par 36) and sophomore Brendan Biegler tied for second with a 38. Dalton Bush posted a 41 and Jacob Hicks had a 42. Isaac Stevens’ 43 was 12 shots better than Chillicothe’s fifth score to win the tiebreaker.

Westfall wins Falcon Invite
LANCASTER — Westfall’s Paige Weiss was six shots better than her nearest competitor at Friday’s Lady Falcon Invitational hosted by Fairfield Union at Pumpkin Vine Golf Course.
Weiss’ 8-under round of 63 led the Mustangs to the team title as they posted a score of 337. Teays Valley was second with a 367.
Zane Trace’s Rosella Lattavo was the second low individual with a 69 in helping the Pioneers to fifth place with a score of 414 and Circleville was sixth with 421.
For the Mustangs, Carolina Sever had a round of 87, Marianna Packer had 93 and Michelle Pickett rounded out the scoring with a 94. Kathryn Lockhart shot a 103.
Teays Valley was led by an 88 from Makinna Pinion and an 89 from Adison Abele. Brooklyn Lowry posted a 92 and Taylor Strawser had a 98. Morgan Laxton shot a 109 for the Vikings.
Isabelle Perini led Circleville with an 80, Alysia Sharp and Ava Justice each posted a 109. Maddux Bigam and Aleigh Michael each shot a 123 and Allie Mullins shot 134.

Tigers win Ryder Cup
CHILLICOTHE — Circleville’s boys took the title at the 2024 Ryder Cup Challenge Friday at the Chillicothe VA golf course.
The Tigers shot a 136 and were in a three-way playoff with Logan Elm and Jackson before claiming the title on the second playoff hole.
