Mustangs on top after first SVC matchup

WILLIAMSPORT — Westfall came out on top of the first SVC boys golf matchup of the season. 

The Mustangs posted a team 163 to best runner-up Piketon (174) by 11 strokes. Zane Trace was third with a 175. 

Piketon’s Brevin Woolridge was match medalist as he shot a 37 at Crown Hill Golf Course Wednesday. Huntington’s Tucker Taylor was second with a 38.

Brendan Biegler and Dalton Bush were in a tie for third and led Westfall with rounds of 40. ZT’s Jon Grondolsky also shot 40. 

Jacob Hicks posted a 41 and Colton Brungarth had a 42 to round out scoring for the Mustangs. 

Ian Camden shot a round of 44 and Isaac Stevens had a 45 to complete the Mustangs’ lineup. 

The boys reconvene outside of Piketon next Wednesday at Big Beaver Creek for the second SVC match of the season. 

Team scores: Westfall 163; Piketon 174; Zane Trace 175; Unioto 190; Huntington 203; Southeastern 220; Paint Valley 241.
