Mustangs take final two SVC matches for girls title; CHS boys win quad

Westfall wins SVC 6 & 7

CHILLICOTHE — Westfall put the finishing touches on a championship run through the SVC Monday winning the final two girls golf competitions held at the Jaycees Golf Course. 

In SVC match #6 played on the front nine, Westfall posted a team 182 with Unioto second at 191 and Piketon third at 193. 

In SVC #7 played on the back nine, Westfall had a team score of 166 with Unioto second at 186 and Piketon third with 188. 

Following a third-place finish in the first SVC match, the Mustangs won the next six to finish league play with 54 points while Piketon was second with 44, Zane Trace was third with 43 and Unioto was fourth with 41.

In Monday’s matches, Westfall’s Paige Weiss was the medalist in Match 6 with a 36 and she shared medalist honors with Zane Trace’s Rosella Lattavo in Match 7 as they both had rounds of 35.

In Match 6, Lattavo and Piketon’s Liala Kelley was the runners-up with rounds of 40. 

Scoring for Westfall were Michele Pickett with a 47, Marianna Packer with a 49 and Lillian Cooper had a 50. Kathryn Lockhart added a 55. 

In Match 7, Westfall’s Caroline Sever was runner-up with a round of 38. 

The Mustangs added rounds of 46 from Lockhart, 47 from Packer and Cooper along with a 49 from Pickett. 

Final league standings: 1) Westfall 54, 2) Piketon 44; 3) Zane Trace 43, 4) Unioto 41, 5) Adena 18, 6) Southeastern 18, 7) Huntington 13. 

SVC #6 team scores: Westfall 182, Unioto 191, Piketon 193, Zane Trace 200, Adena 205, Southeastern 233, Huntington 258. 

SVC #7 team scores: Westfall 166, Unioto 186, Piketon 188, Zane Trace 202, Adena 203, Southeastern 232, Huntington 258.

Circleville boys wins quad match

CHILLICOTHE — Circleville came out on top in a four-team match at the Chillicothe Jaycees Golf Course Monday afternoon. 

The Tigers posted a score of 168 for the win with Logan Elm second at 178, Fairfield Union was third with 185 and host Zane Trace had a score of 195. 

Circleville’s Reid Seimetz and LE’s Grant Cline shared medalist honors with rounds of 39. 

Harrison Bond and Brady Reuter each shot a 42 and Liam McConnell had a round of 45 to complete the Tigers’ scoring. Ashton Groff had a 48 and Maxton McKeivier had a 50. 

For the Braves, Graham Williams had a 44, Cole Smith a 46 and Mason Gentry completed their scoring with a 49. Parker Calder shot a 51 and Dylan Neff a 53. 

Team scores: Circleville 168, Logan Elm 178, Fairfield Union 185, Zane Trace 195.
